25 -PC1400 & 35 ? PC1400

Key features :
? The PC 1400 has foot mounting and comes in left and right assembly enabling easy fitment into modern day cars and 4x4
? One PC1400 battery can take the place of two original 200 series Landcruiser start batteries leaving the second battery tray to be used for an auxiliary battery (load considerations will need to be taken into account when using the auxiliary battery )
? Minimize cost and maintenance time of two batteries by using one -if an auxiliary is not required
? 820 CCA from a battery this size is double the output of a conventional battery with 3 times the life.
? The PC 1400 as well as having a massive cranking power of 1400 amps with rapid recovery is also a true deep cycle battery with a Reserve Capacity of 125 min.
? 4 year warranty ? with an expected service life of 6-10 years

Most serious 4x4 off roaders and adventure seekers will know the advantages of having a dedicated battery for their all-important auxiliary items. Many have power hungry gadgets and accessories that are deemed too important that that it can?t be left at home i.e. winch or beer fridge- be it for a day trip or extended time away from home.

The vehicle's standard battery (or batteries) is not designed, nor does it have the capacity, to power additional accessories and as most modern vehicles have their own built in accessories that already has high power demands from the starting battery. It can be inconvenient to have a dead starting battery and at times even life threatening. It is recommended and a common upgrade in most 4x4 circles that if you need to power any accessories including fridges, inverters, and camping lights, that you should have an additional power source independent from the starting battery installed into your vehicle.

(this a picture of a dual PC1500 setup used only for example)

Instead of just adding an extra battery onto your vehicle?s already factory dual setup (that would make it 3 in total). The extra weight is like having a small child permanently seated at the back seat and a toolbox size space used. Correctly installed and configured (one to start the vehicle and the other as an auxiliary battery) the Odyssey PC1400 offering 1400 amps of cranking power and being a true deep cycling battery could potentially replace the OEM factory dual battery and be a true dry cell dual battery application but have the advantage of only occupying the OEM battery space and saving you on space and lugging extra unwanted weight.

Alternatively the PC1400 is an ideal battery on its own for the larger type family/ gran touring cars or 4x4 that spend more time family commuting then an extreme off road. And in this case it can completely replace the OEM dual battery starter setup. This saves on weight, allows more work space in the engine bay, minimize overall maintenance and long term cost.

Important note: regarding dual setups: removing the two standard batteries and replacing with one Odyssey PC1400, and using a second PC1400 battery as an auxiliary requires two pieces of equipment for the system to work properly. This equipment would need to be added regardless if you use an Odyssey or another brand of batteries as the modification has to compensate for the low voltage the Land Cruiser puts out for float voltage on the batteries. The first piece of equipment you need is an isolator for proper auxiliary operation or you will have a problem where one battery will charge more than the other and it can lead to battery damage. The second is DC battery charger (DC-DC converter) that takes the 13V the Landcruiser puts out for charging and boosts it to 14.4V and uses different stages to eventually bring the voltage down to 13.7V for float charging. This problem is specific to the Landcruiser 200 series and if not used, the auxiliary battery is never properly charged and will sulphate due to the low voltage output of the Landcruiser 200. Ctek makes such a unit called a D250S Dual and there are other manufacturers who make similar devices. If you set the system up correctly you will get many years of service from the batteries and the cranking and auxiliary power will be there when you need it?
