I thought it is the 720 chassis with more power and more space to compete with the Ferrari 812?

Would have been a more interesting proposition if built off the 720. Styling is a mix for me but as a grand tourer it just doesn't sit up there with the conti GT and wraith.

They said it's supposed to compete with the DB11, 911 Turbo and Portofino. Has more luggage space than a Ford Focus with rear seats folded down.

    Not overly exciting...

Would rather have a modern SLR (with the flaws from the old one fixed of course).

The wheels and front bumper seem like a very ugly choice, but with those ignored it seems like a nicely shaped car.

Not feeling it either. This should have been a flagship product, preferably in a new more spacious chassis suited to GT intentions.
It's past time to introduce a new engine line as well. Every McLaren model since the street car rebirth has used tweaked versions of the same engine. Instead McLaren enters a new market segment with a 570GT in a different suit.

The 570 lineup is due to be replaced next which makes the GT even worse. Instead of being an interesting new car this is an ill-defined product using old, soon to be superseded hardware to create a product that will be lost in a muddle of cars that will rarely be ordered, a la 911 variants.
