One of the world?s biggest and most famous sporting events, the 24 Hours of Le Mans, is now just days away and on 13 & 14 June, hundreds of thousands of motorsport fans from all around the world will witness the 83rd running of the jewel in the crown of endurance racing ? a race that is hotly anticipated due to the intense level of competition among the 56 entries. The start of the twice-round-the-clock will be at 3:00pm on Saturday, 13 June.

As for the past 60 years, Motul will have a significant presence at Le Mans through its technical partnerships with entrants in three of the four categories, its advertising exposure around the track, and at the popular drivers? parade in the town centre. The international lubricant specialist goes into the 2015 race as an official partner to the Automobile Club de l?Ouest (ACO), a deal that was signed at the recent 24 Hours Moto race at the Circuit des 24 Heures.

A leader in its field internationally, Motul is the lubricant of choice and the provider of technical support to 12 entries in the 2015 field. As holder of a license from the ACO which upholds Motul?s high-performance 300V Le Mans brand as the preferred lubricant for endurance racing, the link between the two French-based, globally-recognised companies goes back many decades and is deep-rooted.

In LMP1, Motul will be alongside the three technologically ground-breaking hybrid entries from Nissan Motorsports. The partnership marks Motul?s return to the top class in the field for the first time since the Pescarolo years, and Nissan?s ingenuity and pioneering spirit closely echoes Motul?s approach to development and innovation, which has seen it become a leader in its field over the past 160 years.

In the very competitive customer prototype category, LMP2, Motul is extremely well represented with six teams including 2014 class winner, JOTA Sport, using its products. Other contenders for front-running place are former winner Greaves Motorsport, Thiriet by TDS Racing, SMP Racing, Murphy Prototypes and newcomers to Le Mans, Ibanez Racing. These prototypes powered by Nissan engines will use an experimental lubricant developed in association with NISMO in Japan.

The final partnership within the 2015 race is one of the most long-standing and is with the multiple class-winning French Larbre Competition team who is running a Chevrolet Corvette in the LMGTE Am class. The team will use products from the Motorsport Line range such as the renowned 300V lubricant which uses EsterCore technology and which is equally available on the shelves for public purchase.

Motul?s instantly recognisable name and logo will be prominently displayed around the track, notably at the Virage du Raccordement which will feature signage to complement the Motul grandstand and the trackside banners at that corner. Motul will also be a key partner for the second consecutive year to the Grand Parade of Drivers through the centre of the town on Friday evening before the race. The parade, which takes place in front of massive crowds of more than 160,000 enthusiasts, will open and close with a bus in Motul?s colours and support from hostesses in the company?s red and white ? the same colours that will be worn by Motul?s 49 grid girls and, new for 2015, 12 grid boys!
