Back in May we kicked off the Bendix Test Pilot Program by installing a set of Street Road Track Brake Pads onto Brad Heasman?s Gen-F HSV Clubsport R8. This month we?re back at Heasman Steering to see how they are treating him.

Just to refresh our memories; Brad uses his R8 as his daily driver commuting to and from the workshop but he also spends a lot of time on the highway commuting to rural areas and interstate trips. Since the SRT pad upgrade he?s also competed in 3 track-based events including the Motor Magazine Hot Tuner Challenge at Sydney Motorsport Park. Consistent braking performance is a must for Brad.
To suit Brad?s driving style an all-in-one street/ track pad is what he required; we recommended the Bendix Street, Road Track pads as they are a great performing pad for the street and the occasional track day.

Bendix: So Brad, how did you find our Street, Road, Track brake pads?

The SRT brake pads are absolutely AWESOME! I have found that the SRT?s are worlds apart in comparison to my previous set of brake pads and while I am getting more and more experience behind the wheel of the car I?d have to say the SRT?s have been a huge influence in the improvement in handling and lap times. I am really happy with them compared to my dismal experience with my previous set of pads. After just one track day with my previous set of pads my rotors had been glazed so I am really glad that Bendix has recommended me the SRT?s.
On my first track day with the SRT?s installed I could feel the increased braking performance instantly. A huge difference! After a few hard braking applications in the heavy braking zones at the end of the two straights at Wakefield Park Raceway I felt I had the confidence to push the car to the limit. I was having so much fun I didn?t want to leave at the end of the day! The pads also perform well on the street with minimal noise, a super smooth pedal feel and awesome ?bite?. To be honest I was really surprised at the minimal amount of dust on my rims. Since then I?ve done 3 track days and daily driven the car with no problems. I?m sold. I think I can fit in a few more track days on this set but after they wear down I?ll definitely be getting another set.
