Neff Keeps Sight On Points Lead

Castrol-backed John Force Racing's Mike Neff reached his second consecutive NHRA Funny Car final to extend his championship lead. Neff was beaten by Jack Beckman after a photo finish, but was happy to have come away with his standings lead intact. "I am happy to go to the final for sure," he said. "That is two in a row. I am encouraged to go to the final on a day like today when the car wasn't running its best. We were able to hang in there and get some points."
Fast Simoncelli tangles with Pedrosa

MotoGP hotshoe Marco Simoncelli continued to fly in France after qualifying second at Le Mans, but a clash with Dani Pedrosa while trying to take second landed the Italian a ride-through penalty which dropped him to fifth. The Castrol-backed rider said: "I am unhappy about what happened, because a result that was within my reach was denied and above all because of the fact that Pedrosa is hurt." Casey Stoner went on to win the race.
Loix takes IRC championship lead

Third place on the Tour de Corse for Skoda driver Freddy Loix was enough to hand the Belgian the points lead of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge. It was a good weekend for the Castrol EDGE-backed Skodas with Jan Kopecky (pictured above) finishing second behind the Peugeot of Thierry Neuville
Double points at Monza for Monteiro

Tiago Monteiro flew a lone flag in the fight against Chevrolet in his Castrol-backed SEAT Leon by finishing third and fourth in the World Touring Car races at Monza this weekend. Monteiro, who is fourth in the championship, said: "This is a brilliant result, particularly on a circuit where we were afraid it might be difficult."
