Castrol (http://www.castroledge.com.au/)-backed Marco Simoncelli ran at the front for much of the Portuguese Grand Prix weekend. Having missed out on pole by just 0.133s, the Italian was second on the grid, but suffered the bitter blow of crashing out after high-siding at turn four on the opening lap. He said: "For sure it was my mistake. I have to be more careful next time. It's a shame because I was fast!" Simoncelli's team-mate Hiroshi Aoyama was seventh, while Dani Pedrosa went on to win.

Castrol (http://www.castroledge.com.au/)-backed John Force Racing team-mates Mike Neff and Robert Hight swapped places at the top of the points standings of the NHRA Funny Car Drag Racing Championship this week after Neff was the beaten finalist at round five in Houston. Neff lost out to Jeff Arend, but the runner-up spot was enough to put him at the top of the table. Team leader and owner John Force said: "I have no complaints today. I have three Mustangs in the top ten. Neff took the points lead. Today was just an exciting day."
