The Castrol (http://www.castrol.com/castrol/castrolhomepage.do?categoryId=3000) Honda partnership is back on the top step of the podium, with Jonathan Rea opening his victory account at Assen - the first win since the iconic Castrol Honda team made its return to the World Superbike Championship this year.
That's just the tip of the iceberg after a full weekend of racing. Castrol-backed teams were in action in World Rally, V8 Supercars, NHRA, the American Le Mans Series and the Intercontinental Rally Challenge.

Jonathan Rea returned the Castrol (http://www.castrol.com/castrol/castrolhomepage.do?categoryId=3000) Honda World Superbike Team to winning ways at the famous Assen circuit this weekend. The Ulsterman started fifth on the grid in race one, but raced his way to the lead on lap four and never looked back. He bagged more points with third place in race two and is now fourth in the standings. "First and foremost, I?m really proud to give the famous Castrol Honda name the first victory on its comeback to this championship," he said.

Jari-Matti Latvala finished second on Rally Jordan after missing victory by the smallest ever margin on a WRC event. Latvala entered the final stage just half a second ahead of Sebastien Ogier, but was edged out by just 0.2s by his Citroen rival. Latvala said: "It was a fantastic way for the rally to finish, but I'm so disappointed to lose out. It hurts when you fight so hard and lose by such a small margin." Team-mate Mikko Hirvonen finished fourth and took extra points for setting the second-fastest time on the final Super Special stage. That leaves the Ford Abu Dhabi World Rally Team tied at the top of the manufacturers' championship. http://www.wrcford.com/servlet/ContentServer?pagename=DFY/WRC

Castrol (http://www.castrol.com/castrol/castrolhomepage.do?categoryId=3000)-backed Ford Performance Racing drivers Mark Winterbotom and Will Davision each took a fourth place around the streets of Hamilton at the weekend. Rain during qualifying left Winterbottom 11th on the grid, but he managed to fight through more rain and several accidents in the race to take fourth, just 0.5s off a podium spot. It was more of the same on Sunday, but this time with Davison fighting through from 10th to take fourth. Winterbottom and Davison now lie fourth and seventh in the points. http://www.fpr.com.au/
