City Performance Feature car: Exige Excitement
http://i762.photobucket.com/albums/xx270/go2spacebucket/CASTROL/castrollotuspost.jpg
Lotus is a familiar name on the track scene, with cars that have an excellent power to weight ratio, some even calling them car sized go karts! This Exige put together by the team at City Performance in Artarmon Sydney is just that and more with parts simply to drool over! Who would have thought you can make something good even better?
Carbon Exterior? Yes please!
No, this Exige isn?t wrapped in vinyl. It is the real deal carbon fibre body panels all round which drops the tare weight even further, whilst giving it an exterior you would consider selling a kidney for. The black wheels are wrapped in a full set of R compound Toyo Proxes semi slicks to help keep this Exige glued to the tarmac.

Engine Hardware
The engine started life in an Audi as a 1.8 litre 4 cylinder, now sporting a larger displacement to 2.2 litre, 5 valve 4 cylinder. A custom exhaust manifold has been constructed with external wastegate and screamer pipe setup to help flow and control the Garret Turbo running 1.5Bar (21psi) of boost. The stock inlet manifold was swapped out and replaced by a unit from Hypertune to help minimise restrictions on the intake.

Economy class interior
The interior is typical Lotus. Dont expect leather seats, Dvd players or even carpet as this Lotus helps keep the weight down by providing the basics. Notice the wind up windows? The interior also houses the Motec M800 ecu which helps bring the Turbo 2.2L Audi engine to life.

How does it perform?
We never really found out how well this Lotus performs, but if you ever typed the words ?Lotus Exige? into Youtube and watch the footage from 5th gear and other shows, you will be surprised at how it performs at the general factory spec which runs a 1.8L 142kw Toyota engine. Now imagine how far this Exige built by City Performance would tear it up with the 2.2L Turbo Audi Engine where the weight of the vehicle weighs in just over 900kg!
