Wakefield Park Raceway transformed into an Evo playground over the weekend as over 60 members of the EvolutionOz.net forum gathered from the far reaches of Australia?s eastern seaboard to compete in the 10th anniversary Evo Nationals. Bendix Brakes (http://clixtrac.com/goto/?50463) were on hand with a range of products to hand out throughout the event.

Bendix brought along brake pads from high performance use to every day duties including the Bendix STREET ROAD TRACK (http://www.bendix.com.au/content/bendix-brakes-performance-street-road-track-srt) and General CT (http://www.bendix.com.au/content/bendix-brakes-general-ct) pads which are a direct fit for Lancer Evolution models. The ?Street Road Track? is an adaptable pad that adjusts to your driving style. It offers the ability to handle busy unpredictable driving on the street, reliability under braking on mountain roads and lap after lap of hard braking at the track.

Friday?s events kicked off with a driver briefing before the cars were then unleashed onto the track for a series of practice sessions, it was clear every driver was pushing to their limits with a number of spins throughout the day.

Wakefield Park is unforgiving on braking components of any level, with a number of sharp turns and hard braking sectors it will put even the best products to the test.

A number of competitors we spoke to over the weekend were impressed with the ?Street Road Track? pad?s performance under extreme conditions on the track and ability to adapt from street use with such ease.

The afternoon was wrapped up with some sponsor rides and driver training to perfect lines and braking points going into Saturdays competition.

Saturdays time attack program did not disappoint with a fastest time of 1:00.943 set by Robert Gooley and his Evo VI in the unrestricted class sporting its recently completed Nitto 2.2L motor. Though it was second fastest competitor Phil H with a time of 1:02.818, which helped him to take out the combined win, with his first place result in the hill climb sprint.

Class winners and place getters received high performance products from Bendix, a welcome prize after a weekend of hard braking.
