When he is not busy being the Bendix National Account manager, you can find him in his race prepped VT commodore racing in the Victorian Saloon Car series and running/ organizing OZV8; a new Motorsports category aimed at close, affordable V8 racing for amateur racers.
Campaigning his VT Commodore race car since early 2007, it has made a name for itself as a dominant racing force in the series. At present he is currently building a VT Commodore OZV8 spec car. This will be the ready to hit the track in November 2011

- Moving back home to Australia he built a VN Commodore Saloon Car which he then raced in the QLD State series from 2004 to 2006

- The car was moved to Melbourne to compete in the Victorian State series in September 2006 as well as a support class for the Sandown 500 that year.
- In 2007 he built a VT Commodore Saloon Car as the class was updating (pictured).

- After a year of development, the pace of the car started to appear.
- After some promising results including 2 second place finishes at Sandown, Basil achieved his maiden win at the Winton round of the VMRC.
