Two races in June - the Canadian and European Grands Prix - resulted in two pole positions, one victory and one second place. Even with that famous last lap error in Montreal, it was enough to secure Vettel the Castrol EDGE (http://clixtrac.com/goto/?47616) Performer of the month accolade for the fourth time running.

Vettel was at least made to sweat on the number one spot as NASCAR's Kurt Busch enjoyed something of a honeymoon month, taking three pole positions, three podiums and one victory in four Sprint Races. Busch's run moved him up three places in the Rankings and onto the brink of the top 25, while also ensuring that Vettel's monthly lead was the narrowest he has enjoyed in the past four months.
Marcel Fassler, Benoit Treluyer and Andre Lotterer were also close to displacing Vettel this month following their sensational triumph for Audi in a classic instalment of the Le Mans 24 Hours. IndyCar's Dario Franchitti and WRC's Sebastien Ogier finished ahead of Vettel's teammate Mark Webber, who was the only other F1 pilot in the top eight.
